The Restaurant Pier 54 it’s a box of surprises!!

Who passes by the “Beira Mar Norte” Avenue can’t imagine that in a small beach called “Arataca” in such a unique address "under the bridge Hercílio Luz" there is a charming Restaurant.

This “Arataca” enchantment locked mostly the sailors; and on this subject many proofs were praised by many personalities of our charming island such as "Admiral Saldanha da Gama" richly said:

"I don’t know what sympathy surrounds me by a big part of the globe, but is there that I want to end my days. To there I’ll come to live, certainly retire. To me there is no other place, in the whole wide world to meditate and rest to a man weary of the sea work"

Built on the same location of the “Arataca Shipyard”, the restaurant Pier 54 offers everything that the “Admiral Saldanha da Gama” has dreamed of: a place to loose ourselves in time. In the 40’s the sailboats “Classe Brasil” were made in the shipyard building that was made in 1907. The shipyard “Arataca” stop producing many years later and the building was abandoned.

In 1999 the idea of use the space to build a cozy place to show a little of our island’s history appeared. And after countless renovations paying attention to leave the place with its remaining traditional charm, The Restaurant Pier 54 starts.

The valuation of the island Culture

We count with a permanent exhibition of historical photos of the bridge “Hercilio Luz” and the shipyard “Arataca”.

When you enter the parking lot of the “Arataca beach” you will find a cozy place of good taste in which you will enjoy a great seen of the “Baia Norte” (north bay of our island); the bridges; the small beach.

What we offer

The Restaurant counts with panoramic decks with outdoors tables. Our food is based in international techniques and cuisine but with a touch of local flavors that gives an extra charm to our plates.
